Community Legal Aid (CLA) is a non-profit legal services program providing free civil legal assistance to low-income and elderly residents of Central and Western Massachusetts. CLA seeks a Pro Bono Coordinator who will help administer its Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) volunteer programs, assisting clients and attorneys, conducting client intakes, and engaging in outreach and recruitment of volunteer attorneys. Responsibilities Assist clients and attorneys participating in CLA's PAI programs Conduct client intakes and administer lawyer-for-the-day and pro bono clinics Refer appropriate cases to volunteer attorneys Open and close cases in a timely manner and maintain complete and contemporaneous records in Legal Server Engage in outreach and recruitment of volunteer attorneys Assist in the coordination and presentation of volunteer training events Help with the preparation of periodic grant reports Skills Strong organizational skills Strong communication skills Strong computer skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail Ability to balance the demands of multiple projects and responsibilities Access to reliable transportation Willingness to occasionally travel to different parts of CLA's five-county service area Ability to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours on occasion Experience coordinating volunteer projects Familiarity with civil legal services Familiarity with the practice of law Familiarity with the Massachusetts legal system Fluency in Spanish Benefits 401(k) with employer-paid contribution Low-cost health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents Paid leave (4 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 12 sick days, and 13 holidays) Relocation stipend Short-term Disability Long-term Disability Life Insurance Parking/Transit Reimbursement Company Overview Community Legal Aid, Inc.
