About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. This is a temporary, full-time position scheduled for 45 to 90 days of employment, with the possibility of extension. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch service to our customers, responding to their questions and concerns related to the Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Key Responsibilities Participate in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns based on assigned call lists, utilizing approved call scripts and compliance guidelines to ensure consistent high-quality service to customers. Respond to customer questions and concerns in a professional and positive manner, ensuring the highest standards of customer service. Utilize software, scripts, and tools appropriately to document all encounters in clear and concise online logs. Employ empathic support to customers, providing personalized solutions to their issues and concerns. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and improve overall customer experience. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Four to six months of customer service experience in a call center environment required. Good customer service skills, with the ability to provide consistent high-quality service to customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone voice and etiquette. Ability to follow instructions and scripts, with strong active listening skills. Proficient with computers, with good typing skills and the ability to utilize software and tools effectively. Strong time management and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of the FAFSA and college financial aid and admissions processes preferred. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience working in a college financial aid office or college administrative office. Previous experience in a call center environment, with a focus on customer service and issue resolution. Knowledge of higher education and student loan industry trends and developments.
