Product Development & Compliance Manager (Beauty, Fragrance & Personal Care – Amazon Focus)
About Us We are an international beauty brand expanding our U.S. product line in the Beauty, Fragrance, and Personal Care category — including body mists, perfume sprays, aromatherapy gift sets, and hair-care products. Our U.S. entity handles local brand development and compliance, while our China-based team manages sourcing and production. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Product Development & Compliance Manager to help us design new products that only U.S.-based sellers can launch on Amazon — ensuring both market appeal and full regulatory compliance. Role Overview You will lead the 0-to-1 development of new beauty and fragrance products specifically designed for the U.S. and Amazon market. From concept to compliance, you’ll define what the product is, how it’s made, and ensure it can legally and successfully be sold on Amazon. Key Responsibilities • Research and propose new product opportunities in Fragrance Mist / Body Mist / Perfume Spray / Aromatherapy Gift Sets / Clean Beauty / Hair Care categories. • Design product formulas and key ingredients aligned with FDA, Prop 65, and Amazon’s Beauty regulations. • Develop packaging direction (bottle type, label claims, flammability labeling, ingredient declaration, etc.). • Ensure products meet U.S. cosmetic regulations, Amazon Beauty compliance, and FBA Dangerous Goods handling requirements. • Liaise with testing labs, contract manufacturers, and compliance agencies to produce SDS, COA, and label documentation. • Provide final specifications to our China-based sourcing and production team. • Attend regular project meetings (weekly or bi-weekly) and report progress and results. Requirements • U.S.-based (preferably Los Angeles or West Coast timezone). • 3+ years in beauty, fragrance, or personal-care product development. • Familiar with FDA cosmetics labeling, Prop 65, and Amazon compliance. • Experience launching beauty or fragrance products on Amazon (bonus if you’ve worked in private label or clean beauty). • Strong understanding of U.S. consumer trends and formulation basics (especially fragrance, skincare, or body care). • Organized, independent, and results-oriented. Nice to Have • Connections with U.S. private-label manufacturers, testing labs, or packaging suppliers. • Experience in fragrance or aromatherapy categories (e.g., body mist, soy candles, or gift sets). • Understanding of sustainable and “clean beauty” product trends.
