Senior Architect – Part-Time Technical Reviewer (Remote, U.S.)

Company: Clayborn Engineering Group Position: Part-Time Senior Architect / Technical Reviewer (Remote) Schedule: As-needed basis (5–10 hours/month) Compensation: Hourly – based on experience Clayborn Engineering is seeking a highly experienced U.S. architect to provide part-time plan review, technical guidance, and standards oversight for our drafting and engineering teams. Our projects include single-family homes and small-scale commercial tenant improvements under ~3,000 sf. This role is ideal for an architect with deep professional experience who is no longer pursuing full-time design work and prefers flexible, as-needed consulting. Responsibilities • Review architectural drawings for code compliance, clarity, and constructability • Identify errors, omissions, and missing coordination items • Provide markups, redlines, and written correction notes • Guide junior staff on typical detailing standards and common pitfalls • Assist in improving office templates, drafting standards, and QC checklists • Optional: brief Zoom mentoring sessions for staff (as needed) • Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs Requirements • Minimum 20+ years of architectural experience (licensed architect preferred) • Strong knowledge of IBC/IRC and small commercial/residential designAbility to explain corrections clearly and simply • Comfortable providing feedback via email, PDF markups, or short calls • U.S.-based Nice-to-Haves • Familiarity with Indiana local AHJ expectations (preferred but not required) • Experience in small TI projects, adaptive reuse, or light commercial work • Ability to review AutoCAD LT drawings (viewing/markups only; drafting not required) How to Apply Please send the following to [email protected]: • Resume • Summary of architectural experience • Any sample redlines or correction sets (if available) • Hourly rate and typical availability per month Job Type: Part-time Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
