- What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical record documentation to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures
- Calculate MS-DRG and APR-DRG for inpatient encounters accurately
- Ensure proper coding, billing, and compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Maintain organizational policies regarding medical coding
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement in the coding process
- What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate from a Medical Coding program
- One to two years of coding experience in an inpatient setting
- Credentialing as CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
- How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a healthcare coding role
- Familiarity with MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodologies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
