About the Role This part-time evening position is a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team at Greenville Hospital, where you'll play a vital role in our Laboratory department. As a Phlebotomist Lab Path Assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lab services, from specimen collection to processing and result delivery. With a flexible, hybrid remote arrangement, you'll have the autonomy to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Greet and communicate with patients, lab clients, and team members in a professional, caring, and respectful manner, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospitality standards. Serve as a resource for patients and clients regarding specimen requirements and processing, providing timely and accurate information. Perform computer order entry, register clients, contact providers for issue resolution, and enter charges for services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Utilize standard venipuncture techniques to collect blood specimens, adhering to correct collection and transport protocols, including positive patient identification. Receive and process incoming specimens, checking for proper labeling and routing to the appropriate location. Follow all Spectrum Health procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with lab safety protocols and minimizing risk to self and others. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the patient experience, focusing on patient safety, quality of care, and excellent service. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you'll need: A High School Diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Phlebotomy training program (based on specific Spectrum Health entity and department as appropriate). Preferred Associate's Degree in a Healthcare-related field. At least 1 year of relevant experience in a medical or customer service field. CRT-Phlebotomy Technician certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and team members.
