Position: DevOps Engineer (REMOTE), Services Job Location (Short): Madison, Alabama-USA Workplace Type: Remote Business Unit: SIG Responsibilities Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial division is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join our growing technology team. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations by automating and streamlining our entire software delivery lifecycle, from code commit to production deployment. You will focus on improving the stability, reliability, performance, and security of our infrastructure and applications. Key Responsibilities • Automation & CI/CD: Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, primarily Azure Dev Ops) to automate the build, test, and deployment of applications. • Containerization & Orchestration: Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes or similar technologies. • Monitoring & Logging: Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) to ensure system health and performance. • System Maintenance: Troubleshoot production issues, perform system upgrades, manage backups, and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested. • Security: Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle (Dev Sec Ops ), including vulnerability scanning and managing access controls. • Collaboration: Work closely with software developers and IT operations teams to ensure smooth and rapid releases and a reliable operating environment. • Infrastructure Management: Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation. Education / Qualifications • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Dev Ops or similar role. • Cloud Proficiency: Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure). • Containerization: Deep understanding and hands‑on experience with Docker. • CI/CD Tools: Demonstrated experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using industry‑standard tools - Azure Dev Ops preferred • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Power Shell. • Soft Skills: Excellent problem‑solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
